Roading Administration Officer

Waimate, New Zealand

Reference: 6902165

Looking for a part-time role with variety, flexibility and a great team? Join our Roading team and play an important part in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. From customer enquiries to corridor access and traffic management administration, this is a role where your organisation skills will really make a difference.

If you've worked in roading or traffic management administration, that's fantastic — but if you're a capable administrator with great people skills, strong attention to detail and confidence using systems, we'd still love to hear from you.

The role is 25 hours per week with flexible start times, making it a great option if school hours suit you. There's also the potential to work from home up to two days a week once you're fully trained.

What you'll be doing:

You'll support the Roading team as the main point of contact for customer calls and enquiries, as well as corridor access requests, traffic management plans, road closure administration, purchase orders, invoices, service requests and general team support. Please refer to the position description for full details.

What's in it for you?

25 hours a week with flexible start times that can fit around school hours (for example, 9.00am - 2.30pm with a 30-minute unpaid break)

  • A day off to celebrate your birthday
  • Upfront sick leave and wellbeing support
  • Up to 5% employer KiwiSaver contributions
  • The potential to work from home up to two days a week once fully trained

Why Waimate?

Waimate offers the best of both worlds — a welcoming community, affordable living, and easy access to the outdoors. It's a great place to build a career while enjoying a lifestyle that gives you room to breathe.

You'll bring:

  • A calm, friendly and professional approach, with confidence as a first point of contact for customer enquiries
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a range of tasks while keeping on top of the detail
  • Confidence using systems and technology, with the ability to learn new tools and processes quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with requests, plans, purchase orders, invoices and service information
  • The ability to remain calm, practical and respectful when managing competing priorities
  • Experience in administration, customer service, roading, traffic management or a similar environment is an advantage, but we're open to candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn
  • A full, current New Zealand driver licence
